Bobby Hargrove was born on November 28, 1950 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to the late Milton Manning and Elizabeth Hargrove Wilkins; Where he attended public schools in Vance County and Henderson County public school system in North Carolina. 

 

In 1974, Bobby relocated to Washington D.C. where he met the woman who would later become his wife Lois Ann Mitchell. Together they raised their very close-nit family. 

 

Bobby was our humble and loving patriarch. Despite his Laidback personality, Bobby enjoined numerous things from fishing, watching boxing, listening to Motown classics, and especially watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys. However, none of that came close to the love he felt when he spent time with his family, specifically his grandchildren. 

 

In humble submission to God's perfect will, on March 27, 2022 with peace in his heart, God stretched forth his almighty hand and Bobby slipped away into that sweet by and by.

 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Lois Hargrove. His children; Bobby Hargrove Jr (Nakisha), Bernie Hargrove, Brian Hargrove, Batrice Hargrove - Smallwood (Michael), Stephanie Edwards (Avery), Delores Mitchell, Gregory Brisbon (Denetra), Russel Barnes, and Rhonda Barnes. 35 grand children, 20 great grand children. His sisters; Betty Bullock (Tony), Patricia Wilkins, and Robin Wilkins. And a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

 

He is proceeded in death by, his parents; Milton and Elizabeth. His son James. And his brothers; Willie Gene, and William Henry.
